IKEA's newly opened store in Bengaluru sees 3-hr wait, long queues, traffic jams
IKEA has officially come in Bengaluru, and the public reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Thousands came to the Nagasandra store on June 25, the first weekend since its opening. People drove in large numbers to the store, causing traffic jams.

People were supposed to wait for three hours at the Nagasandra store, making it almost impossible for security guards to manage the gathering. On Sunday, similar situations are expected. On Saturday, IKEA in a tweet said, "Bengaluru, we are overwhelmed by your response. Current wait time at Nagasandra store is 3 hours. Please plan accordingly or shop online. For latest wait time updates."

The largest IKEA outlet in India was inaugurated on June 22 by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who also announced the company's decision to invest around Rs 3,000 crores in the state. This IKEA outlet in Nagasandra spans 12.2 acres (460,000 square feet) and houses over 7,000 well-designed home furnishing products, as well as more than 65 elegantly designed room sets for ideas and inspirations at home.
IKEA is a Swedish multinational corporation that sells ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchenware, and home accessories. IKEA is the world's largest furniture brand, with more than 400 locations worldwide selling low-cost household items to millions of customers. Ingvar Kamprad, who was 17 at the time, founded it in 1943 in Sweden. The company's first store in India opened in Hyderabad on August 09, 2018.
IKEA plans to open other stores as well, including a store in New Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Surat.
